Linda S. Lebert, 77, a resident of Stonehedge Drive in Bennington, VT died peacefully Thursday September 15, 2022 at her residence.
She was born in Bennington, VT June 11, 1945. She was the daughter of the late Howard and Ruth (Pierce) Ouhl. She received her education in Bennington and was a 1963 graduate of Bennington Catholic High School. She later graduated from Saint Joseph's Business College.
She married Robert E. Lebert on January 1, 1966 in Bennington. Mr. Lebert died May 17, 2008.
In the early 1970's Linda and Bob founded Harvest Christian Ministries and began the broadcast of "This is the Day" on the local cable channel. As the program grew it was also simulcast on WXXA in the Albany, New York area. In 1981 both Pastor Linda and Pastor Bob became ordained ministers by the Independent Assemblies of God International. In 1983 they opened the original Harvest Christian Ministries Church on School Street in Bennington. In 1993 as the ministry grew, they opened the current home of Harvest Christian at 945 East Main St. in Bennington.
Fulfilling a need in the community, Pastor Linda and Bob opened the first Harvest Soup Kitchen in 1986 at the corner of River Street and BenMont Avenue in Bennington. A second Harvest Kitchen was opened in North Adams in 1994.
Linda's family and grandchildren were her main interest.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Laurie and Lee Burdick of Bennington, Melissa and Robert Freiling of Berwyn, PA, Adam and Jill Lebert of Shaftsbury and Aaron and Nicole Lebert of Bennington. Twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A brother Michael Von Ouhl of Bennington and a sister Barbara "Bobbi" Kircher of Pennsylvania.
A celebration of Pastor Linda's life will be held from Harvest Christian Ministries , 945 East Main Street in Bennington on Thursday September 22. The visitation hour will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. The service will be offered at 2:00 p.m. with the pastoral staff of Harvest Christian Ministries officiating.
The burial will follow privately at the family lot at Grandview Cemetery in North Bennington.
