NORTH BENNINGTON, VERMONT

Leo E. Martin, 79, a resident of North Bennington, Vermont died on Saturday, January 6, 2018.

He was born in Whitefield, NH on March 6, 1938, and was the son of the late Timothy and Eva (Tatro) Martin. He attended schools in Pittsfield, MA. He has been employed as a machinist at Lovejoy Manufacturing in Hoosick and later at Furon in North Bennington.

Leo was a communicant at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in North Bennington.

He is a former member of the Bennington Moose Lodge.

He enjoyed playing the horses at OTB in Hoosick Falls and loved fishing.

Leo is survived by his children: Sharon (Al) Stubbs of Pittsfield, MA, Timothy(Robin) Martin of Schenectady, NY, Shauna Spiewak of Pittsfield, MA and Tracy Martin-Powers of Cairo, NY. He leaves several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Leo is survived by his brother, Bruce Martin of Delaware, and his sister and brother-in-law; Bonnie and David Fetters of Florida.

He is predeceased by his wife Patricia, who died on February 16, 2009, and his step-daughter Cheryl Kaley

A Memorial mass will be held on Wednesday morning, January 10, at St. John the Baptist Church in North Bennington at 11:00AM. The interment will take place in the spring of 2018.

There are no calling hours scheduled.

The Mahar and Son Funeral Home is assisting the family at this time.
