Lawrence Guetti

April 3, 1947 — October 2, 2021

BENNINGTON- Lawrence Ido Guetti, 74, a resident of Safford Street in Bennington, VT. passed away on October 2nd, 2021 following a short illness.
Born on April 3rd, 1947 in Bennington, to the late Hazel (Eastman) and Ido Vigilio Guetti. Lawrence was raised and educated in Bennington, graduating from Bennington High School in 1967. After his graduation, Lawrence served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era (UH-1 HUEY). When he was honorably discharged from the military he returned to Vermont and worked numerous jobs before he started his career as a property manager for Stratton Mountain Resort, in Stratton Mountain, VT. With over 25 years of experience, Lawrence retired from the Resort and became his own boss doing odd jobs for friends, family, and people he became acquainted with through his work at the mountain. He was a jack of all trades, but he was particularly fond of painting for his clients.
Lawrence married the former Shirley Ann Ranzona on November 15, 1969 at St. Francis de Sales Church. Together they had three children, Anthony Scott, Lisa Marie, and Thomas John. They later divorced, but remained friends as their lives continued. Besides his family, his passions included; planting flowers, listening to music, watching sports, and bird watching.
Lawrence is survived by his former wife, Shirley Ann Ranzona, as well as their three children; Anthony Scott Guetti, Lisa Marie Laplante, and Thomas John Guetti. He is also survived by a half-brother Peter Guetti, as well as six grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Lawrence is predeceased by his Parents Hazel and Ido Vigilio Guetti, and Shirley's father Benjamin Ranzona.
A Memorial Service for Lawrence will be held at the E.P. Mahar and Son funeral home on October 29nd, at 7pm. Calling hours for Lawrence will begin one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at the convienence of the family.
