Lawrence E. Gauthier Sr.

September 22, 1955 — July 5, 2017

Lawrence E. "Larry" Gauthier Sr., 61, a resident of Middle Pownal Road in Bennington died unexpectedly on Wednesday July 5, 2017 at his residence.

He was born in Bennington, VT September 22, 1955 He was the son of the late Ernest and Margaret (Danforth) Gauthier. He received his education in Bennington and was a graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School.

Larry served in the United States Army.

Larry was self- employed as a carpenter. In earlier years he worked for Brent Peacock Construction, David Hickey, Chapman Construction and Pizzagali. He most recently worked with his longtime friend Scott Hutton, who he was very close to.

He loved all sports and was very competitive. An avid hunter and fisherman, Larry loved the outdoors. He enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include four sons, Larry E. Gauthier Jr. and his wife Celisa of Bennington, Lenny Gauthier of Bennington, Logan Gauthier of Townsend, VT, and Liston Gauthier of North Carolina; Three grandchildren, Kaidin and Keana Gauthier of Bennington and Dominick Metcalfe of Pownal, VT. Two sisters, Linda Knapp and her husband Richard of Bennington and Sandra Sinclair of Bennington. A brother, Thomas Gauthier of Bennington and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by two brothers, David and Robert Gauthier and two sisters, Nancy Hathaway and Diann Ball.

At Larry's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
