Laura E. Macjarrett

Laura E. MacJarrett, 90, a resident of Park Street, Bennington died Monday, October 21, 2019 at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington.

Born in Montpelier on February 1, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Bertha (Adams) MacJarrett. Laura received her education in Bennington and was a 1947 graduate of Bennington High School. Following graduation she attended St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsfield, MA.

Laura was employed for a time at the BenMont Paper Company before going to work at Union Carbide Corporation where she worked for the next 29 years until she retired in 1991.

Laura was a member of the the Bennington Senior Citizens group and enjoyed traveling throughout the world, playing golf and swimming.

Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine and Kenneth "Digger" Lorette of Bennington; a brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Gail MacJarrett of Bennington; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Laura was pre-deceased by a brother, Francis "Tom" MacJarrett and a niece and nephew, Kristine and Kenneth "D.J." Lorette III.

At Laura's request services will be private.
