Konstantine “DINO” Alexopoulos, a resident of Carlen Street in Manchester, VT, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2023, at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington. Konstantine was born on December 7, 1930, the son of the late John and Venetta Alexopoulos. He attended high school in Manchester, NH and later enlisted in the Marines, serving in the Korean War with the infantry/tank unit. He was awarde the Korean Service Medal which was presented to him on the 50th Anniversary of the Korean War. Konstantine was a United States Marine Corps Veteran and upon returning to Massachusetts he attended and graduated from the American Culinary Institute In New Haven, CT. He worked as one of the main chefs at the Bradley airport and on one occasion he and his staff prepared an on-flight meal for then President Kennedy. Konstantine moved to Vermont after his marriage to Miriam Korpi of Winhall, Vermont and started a new job as chef at the Skyline Drive restaurant on the summit of Mount Equinox. Konstantine later moved to Westfield, Massachusetts to open and operate Davio’s restaurant with his brothers. Konstantine moved to Florida in mid-2005. He was a member of the American Legion and attended many of the Marine Corps Veteran activities in recent years after he had returned to Vermont in 2015. Konstantine is survived by his wife, Florence Alexopoulos of Manchester, VT, his children; John Alexopoulos and his wife Joy, of Manchester, VT, Chris Alexopoulos of Manchester, VT, Steven Alexopoulos of Middlebury, VT and stepchildren, Mary Victorick of Glastonbury, CT, and Peter Casinghino. Konstantine is also survived by his grandchildren; Jacob and Lexie Alexopoulos, Sarah, Greg, Ken, and Michael Alexopoulos and Chelsea, Ben and Tanner Alexopoulos and Krisie Spaulding, Russ Casinghino and Randi Wojnilo. Konstantine is also survived by his sisters, Irene and Christine and his brothers, Peter, Paul, And Tommy. Konstantine was predeceased by his brothers, Andrew, George and Christos and his sister, Penelope. Services for Konstantine will be held on Monday November 13, 2023 at 9:00 AM at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery Agawam 1390 Main Street Agawam, MA 01001.
