Kimberly E. Bessette (Cross)

July 1, 1955 — July 15, 2018

Kimberly E. Bessette, a resident of South Street in Bennington, VT died on Sunday July 15, 2018 at her residence after a long courageous battle with cancer for 15 years.

Kim was born in Bennington, VT, July 1, 1955. She was the daughter of the late Ezekiel Cross and MaryLou (Reed) Cross who survives. Kim received her education in local schools and attended cosmetology school.

Kim ran her beauty shop, Kim's South Street Salon for over 30 years. She originally started the business in Hoosick Falls, NY

She married Stephen K. Bessette June 29, 1985, he survives.

Kim enjoyed working with flowers, gardening, cooking, fishing and boating. She liked spending time at their camp and spending time with the love of her life Steve, and her family.

Survivors include her husband Stephen K. Bessette of Bennington, a son Eric S. Cross and his companion Tami M. Elwell of Bennington. Two favorite grandchildren Cole Cross and McKenna Cross of Bennington; a step daughter, Amy Pawlowski and grandchildren Jennifer and Jessica Putnam. She also leaves her mother MaryLou Cross of Shaftsbury and her brother Peter Cross of Shaftsbury as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by a brother Alan Cross and a sister Doris Bigart-Lemieux

A private memorial will be held at the convenience of the family.
