Kevin M. Mclenithan

August 30, 1957 — February 1, 2021

Kevin M. McLenithan, 63, a resident of Church St. in North Bennington, VT died Monday February 1, 2021 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington following a brief illness.

He was born in Bennington, VT August 30, 1957. He was the son of Harold McLenithan and Janet (Weeks) McLenithan. Kevin received his education in Bennington and was a 1976 graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School. While in high school, Kevin was a member of the 1975 Mount Anthony Football state champions.

He married the former Linda French on August 26, 1989 at the Mount Anthony Country Club in Bennington.

Kevin was in the automobile business for over 40 years. He started at the Ford dealership in Bennington and later was employed as Parts Manager at Morrison's, Ed Smith Chevrolet, Nemer and Langway. He most recently was employed at Greene's Oil in Bennington.

Kevin was a 33 year member of the Bennington Elks Lodge. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors and was game for any project Linda wanted to do around the several houses they owned. When they were done with their projects, they would look at each other and say "time to sell, we need another project."

Survivors include his wife, Linda McLenithan of North Bennington. His father, Harold McLenithan of Bennington. Three brothers, James H. McLenithan and his wife Carol of Shaftsbury, VT, Timothy A. McLenithan and his wife Frances of California and Brian McLenithan and his wife Rebecca of New York. A sister, Wendy L. Harris and her husband Kenneth of North Bennington. Along with many nieces, nephews and cousins and aunts and uncles. He was pre-deceased by his mother Janet and a brother, Jeffrey McLenithan.
He leaves many lifelong and new friends that he enjoyed spending time with, sharing good times with and laughter. He also leaves Oliver, a much beloved Bombay cat that adored him.

At this time there will be no calling hours or funeral services.

A graveside service will be held at the family lot at Park Lawn Cemetery and a celebration of life will be held in the Spring/Summer.
