Kevin F Armstrong

October 15, 1955 — November 2, 2016

Kevin Francis Armstrong, age 61, died on Wednesday November 2, 2016 at home in Woodford, VT after a long battle with cancer. Kevin was born in Springfield, MA. He was the son of the late George Armstrong and Teresa (Bovat) Armstrong. He graduated from Agawam High School in 1972. He was an apprentice in several jewelry manufacturing businesses in Springfield before joining Hershon and Company where he traveled all over the US resetting diamonds into new mountings, while the customer waited. He married Susan Mills in 1984 and they moved to Vermont with her two children, Karen and Stefan. Kevin opened a jewelry manufacturing business in Burlington, servicing local jewelry stores and then moved it to Rutland where he had a small jewelry store and special order/repair business. In 1993 the family moved to Bennington where Kevin opened Armstrong Jewelers on Main Street. He received his Graduate Gemology degree from the Gemological Institute of America. He loved creating jewelry and has left a legacy of beautiful pieces for his family and his many customers.

Kevin was predeceased by his parents in 1972 and by his brother Mark in 2006. He is survived by his wife Susan, his step children Karen (Suk Song) and their children Morgan, Eli, Hannah and Jonah of Sanbornton, NH and by Stefan (Beth Spazek) and their children Taylor and Cameron of Acton, MA. His brother Arthur (Heather Armstrong) and children Dustin, Deanna, Benjamin and Olivia of Shelburn, MA and brother Glenn (Diane Armstrong) and children Robyn, Rachael, Ryan, Renee, Ross, Randy and Reilly of Pownal, VT. He also leaves four very special friends " Kevin Quinn, Lloyde Scott, Lynn Cushing and Chuck Suss. Kevin's favorite pastimes were deep sea fishing and playing golf at Mount Anthony Country Club.

There will be no calling hours or service. At Kevin's request, a New Orleans Jazz band will be meeting on the corner of Silver Street and Main on Saturday, November 19th at 2:00. We'll all parade down the sidewalk and end up at the store where there will be a happy celebration of his life. Please join us!
