Kenneth W. Scott

March 19, 1941 — March 4, 2021

Kenneth W. Scott, 79, a resident of Bushee Lane in Pownal, VT died Thursday March 4, 2021 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington following a long illness.

He was born in Mawah, New Jersey March 19, 1941. He was the son of the late Kenneth and Eva (Baldauf) Scott. Ken received his education in New Jersey.

In earlier years Ken owned and operated several businesses in New Jersey including a restaurant and bar, a laundromat, a flower shop and a landscaping business. After moving to Vermont, Ken opened Ken's Gallery of Flowers in Bennington and later in Londonderry, Vermont.

Ken enjoyed fishing, flowers, gardening and feeding his birds. He especially enjoyed pizza night with his great nephew Tyler. He was a New York Yankee and New York Giant fan.

Survivors include his three sisters, Willa and Donna Scott both of Bennington and Midge Weyer of Arizona. Several nieces and nephews, including Donna Dunican and her husband Shawn of Hoosick Falls, NY, Diane Miller of Shaftsbury, VT, Al Stoessel, Jr and his wife Ceil of Bennington and Steven Sherman of Bennington His great nephews Tyler Stoessel and Gregory Stoessel and his great great niece and nephews, Paisley Stoessel, Jaxson Stoessel and Brandon Sherman. He was pre-deceased by a son, Arthur Miller, a brother, Denny Scott and a niece, Michelle Sherman.

Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Friday March 12, 2021 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.

The funeral will be held on Friday March 12 at the funeral home at 2:00 p.m.

The burial will take place in the family lot at White Chapel Cemetery in Bennington at the convenience of the family.
