Kathleen Robare (Singleton) Wylde, 78, a resident of Duffy Drive in Bennington, died peacefully Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Southwestern Vermont Medical in Bennington. Born in Bennington on April 11, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Catherine (Burke) Robare. She graduated from Bennington Catholic High School, as well St. Joseph College. She later attended the Putnam School of Nursing earning her LPN. Kathy’s employment included various roles as a secretary, nurse, cardiac and cancer nurse, neurological technician, and paraprofessional educator. She enjoyed her cats, quilting, knitting, sewing, and talking with her regular contacts in the neighborhood, at the farmers market, or in church. Although she is preceded in death by her late husband Russ Wylde, and sister Ann Letourneau, survivors include a daughter (Kathy George), two sons (Todd and Tim Singleton), a stepson (Jeff Wylde), four grandchildren (Joanna, Sean, Susanna, and Jackson Singleton), three nieces (Kelly Drachman, Michelle Pekkarinen, and Jennifer Stinner), and many great-nieces and great-nephews. There are currently no plans for calling hours or a funeral. Masses will be said at the Catholic Churches of Bennington, and North Bennington in the near future. Plans will be made for August of 2023 to hold a celebration of life, and a private ceremony for family.
