Kathleen A. Monroe (Doyle)

She was born in Bennington, VT on June 29, 1939. She was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Margaret (Clark) Doyle. Kay received her education in Bennington and was a 1957 graduate of Bennington High School.
She married Lewis "Sonny" Monroe Jr. on May 11, 1968 at Saint Francis de Sales Church in Bennington.
In earlier years Kay was employed at the Bennington Banner. After marrying Sonny, she worked in the family business "Sonny's Motors" in Walloomsac, New York.
She loved her iPhone and playing video games. Kay loved her customers and became very close friends with many. Her greatest joy was spending time with Sonny, Terri and Mike. She was an amazing wife, mother and friend, and will be missed immensely.
Survivors include her husband Lewis "Sonny" Monroe Jr. of Walloomsac, NY; a daughter Teresa Burdick and her husband Michael. She is also survived by her nieces, Alice Potter, Laurie Stumpek and Michelle Carmona; dear friend and employee of 29 years, Lenny Chaplin and several cousins.
Kay was predeceased by her brothers Joseph R. Doyle of Pittsfield and Edward P. Doyle of Bennington.
Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington on Tuesday January 15, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
The funeral will be held from Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church in Bennington on Wednesday January 16, 2019 at 1:30 p.m.
The burial will follow in the family lot at Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington.
