Kathleen Grikstas Hurley (Grikstas)
February 11, 1930 — April 12, 2018
She was born at the family home in Shaftsbury, VT February 11, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Eva (Carey) Kinney. Kathy received her education in North Bennington.
She married William E. Hurley in July of 1975. Mr. Hurley died February 25, 2018.
In earlier years Kathy was employed at Nancy Shoe in Hoosick Falls, NY and had also waitressed at the Five Fly's . She later worked at the Union Carbide Corporation from which she retired.
She loved her cats and dogs and also liked deer hunting.
She was a former member of the Bennington Eagles Club.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Grikstas and his wife Lori of Searsburg, VT and Edward Gritskas and his wife Jane of Florida. Four grandchildren, a brother Billy Kinney and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by two brothers and a sister, Francis Kinney who died in the Korean War, Tom Kinney and Mary Greene.
At the request of Kathy there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
