Judith Fellows-Miller passed away at home on November 25, 2016 after a brave battle with cancer.
Judith was born in Hanover, New Hampshire and raised in Etna, New Hampshire. She graduated from Russell Sage College with high honors in psychology and completed her PhD at the University of Glasgow in Scotland.
Judith went on to teach at the University of Alaska while conducting research on Eskimos culture. After 10 years in Alaska, Judith moved to Bennington, where she taught at Southern Vermont College and Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. Judith left teaching to work for the State as a substance abuse prevention consultant. She retired in 2015.
Judith enjoyed spending time with her family; she loved being a mom and "Gran." Judith enjoyed books, art history, and antiques. She was active in Bennington and a member of the Catamount Rotary and the Baker Street Breakfast Club.
She is survived by her husband, Don Miller; two daughters, Larraby Fellows (Michael Close) and Chelsea Fellows-Stanley (Jeff); four grandchildren, Eleanor and Rosamund Close and Roland and Finnegan Stanley; brother, Tom Fellows (Nancy); and three step-sons, Lloyd, Justin, and Jared Miller.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 a.m. on Saturday December 3rd at the Old First Church in Old Bennington. Calling hours will be at the Mahar Funeral Home from 10-12 on the 3rd. Judith will be buried in the Hanover Center Cemetery in New Hampshire at a later date.
