John F. Seale, 62, a resident of County Route 61 in Shushan, New York passed Tuesday December 28, 2021 at the Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga, New York surrounded by his family.
He was born in Boston, MA February 10, 1959. He was the son of the late Robert B. Seale and Natalie (Pomeroy) Seale. John received his education in Bennington and was a 1977 graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School. He later received his surveying degree.
In earlier years John worked as a bartender at both the Hotel Cambridge in Cambridge, NY and the Central House in Salem, NY. He also owned a taxidermy business, drove truck for Ferry Morse Seeds and for many years worked at Curtis Lumber in Schuylerville and Hoosick, NY.
John saw the good in all things, he had a warm demeanor with an infectious smile. He put his whole heart into everything he did, whether it was the deer he was hunting, his homemade mustard or his relationship with his beloved wife. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to John such as baking, puzzles, playing cards, fishing, and being outdoors. In his younger years he played both baseball and softball. John was a former member of the Bennington Elks Lodge # 567. And more recently John was part of the wild turkey federation, Salem fish and game as well as a bowling league where he scored a perfect 300.
Just a few short months ago John took the hunting trip of a lifetime to Wyoming with a group of close friends where he took home the biggest elk to ever come from the ranch.
Anyone who knew John was touched by his kindness, humor and mild temperament. And he had nothing but love and appreciation for his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Valeda McLenithan of Shushan, NY. His daughter and her husband Marley and Christopher Picard and two granddaughters, Lily and Sophie Picard of Lake George and his son Storm Smith of Westfield, MA.
