John Edward Rose

July 31, 1946 — December 7, 2024

John Edward Rose, 78, of Bennington, VT, passed away at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY on December 7, 2024 following a brief illness.

John was born in Greenwich, NY on July 31, 1946. He was the son of Hymus and Lillian (West) Rose. He married Cynthia Dennis in Bennington, VT. Cynthia passed away on June 27, 2015.

John worked in local factories in the Bennington area during his working career - the last place of his employment with Mace. Besides tinkering on cars, John loved to fish and enjoyed going to fairs, carnivals and concerts. He also enjoyed spending time at Project Independence in Bennington. He loved his five dogs.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Hymus and Lillian, his wife Cindy, and three sisters.

John is survived by his two daughters, Tammy Wright of Rutland, Debbie and Faith Bardett, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A special thanks to Tim and Miranda Defrence for taking such good care of John in his later years as his health began to worsen.

His wishes were to be cremated and have his beloved dog, Harley placed with him. John will be laid to rest with his wife Cindy in Hinsdillville Cemetery. A service of remembering will be held at a later date.
