Jack passed on February 7, 2022 at his home after a long illness.
He was born in Pittsfield, MA on April 11, 1935 to the late Mathilda Schwab and John E. Bridagan. Jack spent most of his life living in Lee, attending the Lee Public Schools. He worked in the Lee paper mills for 44 years where he met some of his long time friends. After he retired from the mill he and his wife worked for Berkshire Hills Leisure Lee, where they took pride in getting to know all of the residents, performing odd and end jobs. He mowed people's lawns in the summer, did security, and plowed for people during the winter months. He and his wife did this for 28 years before fully retiring and moving to Shaftsbury Vermont in 2012.
During his younger years Jack enjoyed fishing, outdoor activities, and even making maple syrup in his backyard with his wife and kids. As he got older he enjoyed puttering in his train room in his garage. He had quite the set up and always took pride in his displays. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially getting visits from his grandkids. Throughout his life he accomplished so many things. The most recent was celebrating his 50 years as a Mason at the Evening Star Lodge in Lee, earning his pin for so many years of dedication and service. For years he enjoyed spending time attending weekly meetings, and getting together with the guys. He also loved being able to bring his "grand girls" to their monthly dinners, making it a family event. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor and quick wit. He was quick to make anyone laugh with some silly joke he could come up with on a whim.
Jack leaves behind his son John of Lee, MA, his daughter Kim of Shaftsbury, VT, his 3 granddaughters, Brooke (Will), Lexie and Gabi Bridagan. He also leaves behind his special "little fella," Isacc Acevedo whom he shared a strong bond with. Jack also leaves behind his niece Patty Santucci of Beloit, Wisconsin along with her two sons Mark and Todd and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves his two pit-bull "puppies" Molly and Levi, whom he loved immensely. He is predeceased by his wife of 57 years Ruth E. Bridagan whom he married on October 26, 1963, his sister Edie Gorman, and several other family members.
The family would like to thank Kim, for taking care of both Ruth and Jack, allowing them to be in the comfort of their own home.
There will calling hours along with a Masonic Service at the Evening Star Lodge in Lee, MA on Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 10AM-12PM. Anyone wishing to attend is welcome.
The family will hold a graveside service at Fairmount Cemetery sometime in the spring.
