Joan M. Zagata, age 84, a former resident of Silk Road, Bennington, died Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Equinox Terrace in Manchester following a long illness.
Born in Bennington on February 28, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Joseph S. and Hazel (Towslee) Zagata. Joan received her education in North Bennington where she graduated from North Bennington High School in 1955, Vermont Junior College in 1957 and American International College in 1959.
Joan was employed for many years in the library at North Adams State College until the time of her retirement.
Joan's home and family were her main interest.
Joan is survived by several cousins including Karen Post and Diane Allard, both of Bennington.
Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 12 noon.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Park Lawn Cemetery at 12:15 p.m.
