Joan Arlene Walsh
December 3, 1942 — January 19, 2025
Joan was a resident of Pownal, Vermont. She leaves behind two sisters, one brother, her loving daughter Angela, as well as her grandchildren: Ryan, Ashley and Samantha, and one great-granddaughter, Natalie.
Joan was predeceased by her husband of fifty years, Joseph Matthew Walsh in 2017. The couple were high school sweethearts who met at Sparta High School in New Jersey.
Joan was a traditional homemaker who loved the role of caring for her family. She enjoyed volunteering at her church and the library. Joan was creative and used her skills to paint and make jewelry.
Socializing with friends and family gave Joan great pleasure. One of her hobbies was cooking. She collected many cookbooks over the years and had fun trying different recipes. Joan’s favorite holiday was Christmas; she loved everything to do with this special day.
A time for visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the Mahar Funeral Home in Bennington, VT from 11:00-1:00pm, with a funeral service to follow.
Contributions to help defray the cost of Joan Walsh’s funeral are needed and much appreciated by the family. They may be made through the office of Mahar Funeral Home located at 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
