Joan L. Perrotta, 87, a resident of Rollin St. in Bennington, VT died Monday November 29, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born in Bennington, VT April 29, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Virginio "Max" Perrotta and Louise (Carey) Perrotta.
Joan Louise Perrotta was a woman with a can-do attitude and moxie like no other. She graduated from Bennington High School.
In earlier years Joan worked for her father at Max Oil and Agway. In 1972 she started working at the Bennington Town Office, retiring on June 25, 1999.
She devoted her life to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joan would open up her home for anyone who needed it, family or not. Joan spent her last days surrounded by the care and comforting words of her family. She was known for her quick wit, humorous sarcasm, gentle nature and loving arms. She had a love of ice cream and all animals, especially dogs.
Survivors include a daughter, Deborah L. Britch of Bennington. Five grandchildren, Jennifer (Aaron), Sabrina(Kevin), Jessica, Benjamin (Mindy) and Samantha. Ten great grandchildren, Morgyn (Timothy), Aubreanna, Jadalea, Cooper, Anthony, Jacen, Averi, Riley, Sean and Asa. Two brothers, Virginio "Max' Perrotta Jr. (Patricia) and Christopher Perrotta of Bennington. Along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by a son, Michael Britch, her parents, Virginio and Louise and her step mother Patricia.
Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Friday December 3, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
The funeral will be held on Friday at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m.
The burial will follow in the family lot at Park Lawn Cemetery.
