Joan M. Montgomery

Joan M Montgomery, 90, passed away after many brief illnesses on June 10th in Vero Beach FL, where she resided with her daughter JoAnne and son-in-law Mike Poirier.
Joan was born May 15, 1932, in Hoosick Falls, NY to Anna (Millett) and Joseph Thompson and lived in Pownal most of her life, also attending school in Hoosick Falls NY by train!
Joan worked at Bijur for most of her career, after retiring she worked at Pownal Elementary school as well as Mace.
Joan made friends easily wherever she was at work or play. Joan lived in Florida for many years with her husband Bill Montgomery where they had made many great friends from as far away as Canada.

Joan is survived by her children Mike Lewis (Deborah), Gary Lewis (Kitty) all of Pownal VT and JoAnne (Mike) Poirier of Vero Beach FL., Sisters, Joyce Campbell and Judy Wallace, many nieces and nephews as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren that loved spending fun times with her, she always looked forward to seeing all of them.
Joan was predeceased by her husband Bill Montgomery also siblings John Thompson and Jan Tornabene.

At the family's request there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at 12 noon on Monday June 20th at Shaftsbury Cemetery on Cleveland Avenue. Friends are invited to attend.
