Joan T. Capriola (Meo)

Joan T. Capriola, 81, a resident of Merson Street, Bennington, beloved wife of Charles E. Capriola, Jr., of the same address died March 10, 2016 at Albany Medical Center suddenly.
Born in Port Chester, New York on February 17, 1935, to the late Nickolas Meo and the former Theresa (Cajafa) Meo. She was a 1952 graduate of Harrison, New York High School.
Joan and her husband moved to Bennington from Purchase, New York in 1969. She was employed as a legal secretary for 45 years in her husband's law office.a
A fine all-around athlete in high school, Joan was also an outstanding bowler back in New York and in Bennington.
Survivors beside her husband include a daughter and son-in-law, Robin and John Garhartt of Bennington; a daughter-in-law, Tamara (Mallory) Capriola of Shaftsbury; a son, Gary Capriola of Maui, Hawaii; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Joan was predeceased by a son, Charles E. Capriola III.
Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington on Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. when the family will be in attendance.
Joan's true love was her family and you would honor her by doing an act of kindness for someone in need.
