Jo-Ann Sausville

Jo-Ann Sausville, 73, a resident of Houran Road in Bennington died Wednesday June 23, 2021 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center following a long illness.

She was born in Bennington, VT April 3, 1948. She was the daughter of the late Glenn and Blanche (Sawyer) Hebert. She received her education in Bennington and attended Bennington High School.

Jo-Ann worked at several area businesses including Fishman's,Union Carbide Corp., Creative Tools and CTC Photo. She worked as a meat packer at Ready's Grocery Store and most recently worked as a caregiver at the River's Edge Community Care Home in Bennington from which she retired.

Jo-Ann enjoyed sports. In earlier years she played woman's softball and bowled. She loved playing cards and attending any event or sport that her grandchildren participated in. When her kids were in high school, Jo-Ann volunteered for the Mount Anthony Booster Club. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.

Survivors include a daughter, Dawn Hewitt and her husband Brian of Bennington, a son Jamie Ballance of Bennington. A daughter in law, Ambur Wendell of Bennington. Four grandchildren, Kourtney Hewitt (Tyler), Allison Harris (Nicole), Morgan Hewitt (Brad) and Connor Ballance. Two great grandchildren, Kendall Harris and Krew Kunzmann. Two brothers, Glenn Hebert and his wife Pat, Roger Hebert and his wife Neva and a sister Patty Rupprecht and her husband Mike all of Bennington. She was pre-deceased by a very close friend Mary Hewitt.

A graveside service will be held at the family lot at White Chapel Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

A reception and celebration of Jo-Ann's life will be held on Monday June 28 at the Bennington Elks Barn from noon to 3:00 p.m.
