BENNIGTON, VERMONT
Jennie Mildred McKinney, age 69, a resident of Safford St. in Bennington died on Thursday morning, July 21, at Albany Medical Center following a brief illness.
She was born in Bennington on October 11, 1946, and was the daughter of the late LeRpy and Helen (Barber) Oldham, Sr. She received her education in Bennington schools. She married Cecil Pratt who predeceased her, she later married Steven McKinney who also predeceased her.
For many years, Jennie had been a private duty nurses aide in the area. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandma, who looked forward each week to the Sunday family gatherings.
She is survived by one son, Brian Pratt of Lake George, NY, and four daughters: Christine Pratt, Jenny Pratt, and Crystal McKinney, all of Bennington, and Grace Schaefer of Shaftesbury, VT.
Jennie leaves twelve grandchildren: Dylan McKinney, Shawna McKinney, Steven Harrington, Connor Harrington, Carson Shumway, Cecil Pratt, Jordyn Sykes, Ashdin Schaefer, Kassidy Carpenter, Zandri Schaefer, Kenndin Schaefer, and Draison Schaefer. She is survived by one sister, Helen Ketchum of South Carolina, and one brother, Thomas (Mary) Oldham of Cambridge, NY.and several nieces and nephews.
She is also predeceased by her two brothers: LeRoy Oldham Jr. and Richard Oldham.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 26 at 2:00PM at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St, Bennington, VT. Interment will follow in White Chapel Cemetery in Bennington. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until 1:00PM.
