Jeffrey W. "Jeff" Kaufer

Jeffrey W. "Jeff" Kaufer, 50, a resident of Church Street, Shaftsbury, died peacefully at St. Peters Hospice in Albany, NY on Thursday, February 7, 2019 after a long fought battle with cancer.

Born in Queens, NY on November 18, 1968, he was the son of the late Mark Kaufer and Barbara Kaufer who survives.

Jeff received his education in Long Beach, NY where he graduated from Long Beach High School and then attended Nassau Community College.

He married the former Stacey Lynch on June 23, 1998 in Oceanside, NY.

Jeff had been employed at Concord Pools and Spas in Latham, NY for fifteen years. At the time of his death he was serving as the Spa Manager at Concord Pools.

Always very passionate for politics, he ran as a candidate for the Vermont State Senate in the November, 2018 elections.

Jeff's daughters were his greatest passion in life.

Survivors include his wife, Stacey Kaufer and their daughters, Andrea and Sophie of Shaftsbury; his mother, Barbara Kaufer of Catskill, NY; a sister, Michelle Kaufer of Los Angeles, CA and his mother and father-in-law, Ronnie and Richard Bach of North Bennington.

A Celebration of Life for Jeff Kaufer will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington

Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
