Jeannette J. Rousseau (Lafountain)

Jeannette J. Rousseau, 68, a resident of Branch St. in Bennington died Wednesday February 12, 2020 at her residence following a long illness.

She was born in Bennington, Vermont May 5, 1951. She was the daughter of the late John and Marjorie (Bacon) LaFountain. Jeannette received her education in Bennington.

She married Joseph H. Rousseau on May 31, 1975 at Saint Francis de Sales Church in Bennington.

In earlier years Jeannette was employed at the Green Mountain Race Track, Stanley Tools and Sargeant's Short Stop. She most recently worked at WalMart from which she retired.

Jeannette enjoyed quilting and ceramics. Her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her main interest.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph H. Rousseau of Bennington. Her children, James J. LaFountain of Bennington, Marjorie A. Bossong and her husband Frank of Shaftsbury and Frederick L. LaFountain and his wife Dawn of North Carolina. Her grandchildren, Christopher J. LaFountain, Anthony M. Coon, Cassidy L. LaFountain, Trever M. Coon, Cameron LaFountain, Erin O'Toole and Michael, Kelly, Kim and Tristin Kastle, Sixteen great grandchildren. Her brothers and sisters, Marie West, John LaFountain, Judy Briggs, Shirley Boisvert, Rosemary Lillie, Paul LaFountain and Jean LaFountain. Along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by a grandson, Aaron LaFountain, two sisters, Joanne LaFountain and Dorothy Kelly and a brother David LaFountain.

The funeral will be held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington on Saturday February 15, 2020 at 3:00 p.m.

Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
The entombment will take place in Park Lawn Chapel with the burial to take place in the family lot at Ira Allen Cemetery in Sunderland in the spring.

Rousseau may be made to either the Kidney Foundation or the Bennington Senior Center through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201.
