Janice Irene Sweet (Whitton)

Janice I. Sweet, age 79 a resident of Crescent Manor Care Centers of Bennington died on

Friday, September 7, 2018 following a long illness.

She was born on July 26, 1939 and was the daughter of the late Jim and Evelina (Livingston) Whitton. She received her education in local schools. Over the years, Janice has been employed at Flowmatic, Jard, The Paradise Motel and Green Mountain Furniture. Janice enjoyed time with her family, and playing her guitar and organ.

She is survived by her children: Phyllis Mae (Roger) Sweet of Hoosick Falls, NY, Cecilia (Dale) Harrington of Hoosick Falls, NY, John Powers of Bennington, VT, Wayne (Lisa) Powers of Bennington, VT Dawn (Clinton) Brock of Buskirk, NY, Janet (Frank) Patalino of Hoosick Falls, NY. Her step-children: Richard Sweet, Jr, Johnny Sweet, Scot Sweet, David Sweet, and Missy Sweet. She leaves her grandchildren: Isabella, Tyler, Erica, Jeffrey, Clinton, Jr., Samantha, Candy, Marlana, Roger Jr., Alexa, Brandon, Felicia, Kayla, Joey and Michael., and many great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Phyllis Sweet of Hoosick Falls and her brother, Ronald Whitton of Hoosick Falls. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Sweet.

A graveside service will be held on Monday morning, September 10, at 11:00 am at the White Chapel Cemetery in Bennington. The are no calling hours scheduled. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements are under the direction of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington, VT.
