Janet Ruth (Bushee) Sausville, 88 of Bennington, VT, entered eternal life on Saturday July 29, 2023. Janet was born on November 1, 1934, in Everett, PA, the oldest of 5 children to Leonard E. and Mary Faye (Sparks) Bushee. Janet married Francis Sausville at Sacred Heart Church on June 29, 1957, and they had celebrated over 50 years of marriage. Francis passed away on November 14, 2007. Janet was educated at Bennington Schools and graduated with honors from Becker College in Worcester, MA. She had managed Knapp’s Pets and Hobbies for over 30 years and was a professional in all that she did. Janet was devoted to her faith and had served as a parish council member, a member of the Worship and Spirituality Committee, a member of the St. Anne’s Society, a sacristan, and an extraordinary minister. She had decorated the church and had prepared the altar for more than 38 years. Janet was also an artist and artisan. She was an artist who excelled in her painting and was a teacher of her art. She was a craftsman in many areas and was a true creator. She inspired people to be better than they thought they could be, both in painting a canvas and as a person. She loved everyone and always saw the good in them. Janet will always be remembered for her kindness and thoughtfulness to everyone. Janet had many interests, but her joy was her family and friends and over the years she had loved all her pets. Janet’s warmth was contagious, and she had a quiet, gentle way about her that drew both the young and old at heart to her. She was strong in will and her spirit lives on in those she touched. She always had hope and believed in angels. And we are sure angels are clamoring about her to welcome her to the heavenly kingdom she so believed in. Janet is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Duane Spomer of Viborg, South Dakota, her grandchildren; Michael (Bianca) Weaver of Louisville, KY, Francis (Amanda) Sausville-Smith of Bennington, VT, Jacob Sausville-Smith of Bennington, VT and Lucas (Ally) Sausville-Smith of West Springfield, MA, a great grandson, Franco Weaver, a sister, Faye Catherine Lariviere of Bennington, VT, a brother, William Bushee of Chesnee SC and her true and best friend for many years, Richard Gallant of Shaftsbury, VT.
