Jane Helen Montgomery (Montgomery)

February 15, 1952 — July 31, 2017

Jane Helen Montgomery, 65, a resident of Cleveland Ave. in Shaftsbury, VT passed away unexpectedly on Monday July 31, 2017 at the Southwestern VT Medical Center in Bennington following a courageous battle with COPD and CHF.

She was born in Bennington, VT February 15, 1952. She was the daughter of the late George and Marion (Wright) Montgomery. She received her education in Bennington and was a graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School.

She married Leland Watters on June 28, 2005.

Jane had been employed by Bijur, Vishay, Smeltzers and Green Mountain Express.

Jane enjoyed traveling and going to the ocean, especially to Hampton Beach and Old Orchard Beach. She also enjoyed latch hooking.

Survivors include her husband Leland Watters of Shaftsbury, a special cousin Dawn Bushey (Charles) and a sister in law Joan Montgomery and her family. Jane was pre-deceased by her brother, William Montgomery and two step children, Edward Watters and Kim Ruff.

Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Tuesday August 8, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00.

The graveside committal service will take place at the family lot at the Village Cemetery in Shaftsbury on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m.
