On Wednesday, August 17, 2016 Jane W. Latif, widow of Joseph F. Latif, passed away at home surrounded by family.
Born in Bennington, she was the daughter of the late Fred L. and Laura (Boisvert) Waite. Jane received her education in Bennington and was a graduate of Bennington High School where she enjoyed drama and music.
Joe and Jane were married in Bennington Oct, 3rd 1942. Jane was a war-bride with a young daughter at home while Joe served in the Pacific during WWII. After the war ended, she volunteered in various positions at the church and sang in the choir. In addition, she was also actively involved in the local community.
At home Jane was a loving mother and later grandmother who was well known for her cooking and crocheting.
Later in life she and Joe traveled the country. Joe predeceased her on August 24, 2010.
She is survived by daughter RoseMary Valentine and husband James Azzoline of Bennington, daughter Jayne and husband Duffy Outwater of Bennington, daughter Michal and husband Steven Amadon of Culpepper, VA, and son Stephen Latif and life-partner Leslie Robbins of Simpsonvile, SC; 12 grandchildren, Gregory Moore, Amy Glynn, Nora Imprescia, Melanie Norcross, Kara Clark, Justin Amadon, Amanda Dezaki, Nathan Amadon, Aaron Latif, Theresa Reich, Hilda Kane and Tommi Outwater; and great-grandchildren Howie, Ethan, Emma, Sophia, Ian, Rebecca, Elena, Alden, Myla, Aki , Amelia, Andelman, Jonah and Calvin; a brother, Robert Waite of Bennington; and special niece Jeannie Mook of Bennington.
She was pre-deceased by daughter Jo-Ann Smith, son-in-law Tom Smith, great-grandson, Brian Dezaki, and four siblings; Joseph Waite, Evelyn Cufari, Frances Lewis, and Elizabeth Strom.
The funeral will be held, Monday, 9:30 AM, from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home with a prayer and from Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered at 10:00 AM.
Friends may call at the funeral home, Sunday 3-5.
Burial will take place in the family plot in the Park Lawn Cemetery.
