Mrs. Jane Bleau, 79, a resident of Hicks Ave. in Bennington, VT died Sunday July 15, 2018 at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY following a brief illness.
She was born in Lewiston, Maine on February 15, 1939. She was the daughter of the late Jack and Grace (Hodgkins) Blanchard. Jane received her education in Bennington and was a graduate of Bennington High School.
She married Richard Bleau in 1975. He pre-deceased her on March 17, 1991.
Jane was employed by the Union Carbide Corporation and later Eveready Battery from 1968 until her retirement in 2001.
Jane enjoyed dress making, traveling and gardening.
Survivors include her children children, Ty Thompson of Hollywood, Florida, Tracy Thompson of The Villages, Florida and Eric Tonstad of Tennessee. Her companion, Robert Barnhardt of Bennington. Three step children, twelve grandchildren, a sister Jackie Blanchard and a brother Bruce Blanchard both of Bennington along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by a son, Timothy (Shawn) Thompson who died in 2002 and a daughter Terry Thompson who died in 2017.
A memorial service will be held at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Friday July 27, at 11:00 a.m.
Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
The burial will take place in the family lot at the Center Shaftsbury Cemetery.
