Jane Alexander (Alexander)

March 19, 1934 — February 8, 2018

Jane Alexander, 83, a longtime resident of School Street in Bennington, died Thursday February 8, 2018.

Jane was born March 19, 1934 in Bennington, VT. She was the daughter of the late James W. and Mary (Cole) Alexander. Jane received her early education in Bennington then transferred to Brandon Training School where she cared for infants for several years. She returned to Bennington in the early 1950's where she resided with her sister Katherine, Katherine's husband William Brooks and their seven children.

Jane's main interests were her family, attending prayer meetings, summers at Camp Thorpe and weekly walks to Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church where she was an avid member for over forty years.

Jane will always be remembered for her kind heart and smile.

Survivors include her sister Katherine Brooks of Bennington, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Family would like to personally thank V.N.A. and Hospice, Centers for Living and Rehabilitation and United Counseling Services for the loving care she received.

Per family request, there will be no services. Contributions in memory of Jane Alexander may be made to Camp Thorpe through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
