James Hollis Richard Hill

James “Jamie” Hollis Richard Hill, 59, a resident of Murphy Road in North Bennington, VT died peacefully Thursday, May 25, 2023 at his residence. He was born in Bennington, VT September 5, 1963. He was the son of the late Hollis Hill and Marianne (Vose) Sawyer who survives. Jamie received his education in Bennington and was a 1982 graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School. He married the former Teddy VanOrman on February 1, 1992 at the family home on Murphy Road in North Bennington. In earlier years Jamie had been employed at Burr & Burton Academy. He later worked at Greene’s Oil and most recently along with his wife Teddy owned and operated Kevin’s Restaurant in North Bennington. He was a member of the VFW Post 1332 and the Bennington Eagles Club. He enjoyed playing golf, softball and football and was a big Chicago Bears fan. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed deep-sea fishing. He loved to travel, especially to Aruba and Alaska. His family and three granddaughters were the love of his life. Survivors include his wife, Teddy Hill of North Bennington, his children, Peter Bennett of San Diego, CA and Kelsey Hill of Bennington. Three grandchildren, Alijah, Isla and Elle. His mother, Marianne Sawyer. His sister Wendy Hill of Bennington. and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at the Mahar and on Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from noon until 2:00 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. A reception will immediately follow the service at the Mount Anthony Country Club.
