WILLIAMSTOWN- James C. Gibbons of the Berkshires passed away peacefully on January 10th, 2024. Jim (aka Gibbo, Papa Bear, Granddad) is survived by best friend and wife of almost 53 years, Judy; children David (Kate) Gibbons, Jorie (Ryan) Widener, and Wendy Gibbons; granddaughters Brooke Gibbons, Madeline Widener and Eloise Widener. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Paige Gibbons. Jim was educated on the East Coast and spent 6 ½ years serving in the Army National Guard. Jim worked in finance and his career took him all over the county and the world. Jim enjoyed sharing his free time reading, traveling, camping out in nature, and laughing. Jim’s greatest love was his family. He loved to hear his granddaughters’ stories and to see them grow into lovely young women. Jim will be remembered for his thoughtful manner, his gregarious laugh and his love for his family. He is missed by his family and friends. According to Jim’s wishes, a private family gathering was held to remember his life and celebrate Jim’s legacy.
