James A. Brookman

James A. Brookman, 91, a resident of Oak Hill Road in Pownal, VT died Monday April 18, 2022 at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington following a long illness.

He was born in Pownal, VT December 15, 1930. He was the son of the late Ronald and Ada (Bratcher) Brookman. Jim received his early education at the Oak Hill School in Pownal and later graduated from Williamstown High School in Williamstown, MA

He served in the United States army.

Jim married the former Virginia Watts.

Jim was an excellent carpenter. He served as First Commander of the American Legion Post in Pownal, VT. He was also a member of the Bennington Lodge of Elks # 567.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Brookman of Pownal. A son, Randy Brookman and his wife Rosanna of Pownal, VT. Along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by six brothers and sisters.

There will be no calling hours or funeral services.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
