James R. Brady 65 of Brooklyn NY passed away suddenly on Saturday July 23, 2016.
He was born in Brooklyn on March 30, 1951 to Martin Brady Sr. and Mary McLee Brady both now deceased.
James served 4 years in the US Army after being drafted at the age of 18 in 1969. Upon returning home from the Army he was self employed as a licensed plumber for many years. He took a position with the NYC Board of Education as an Operating Engineer in 1991. He retired from the Board of Education in 2013.
James is survived by 2 daughters, Lucille Keller (Brent) and Leeann Harrington (Reuben) both of Bennington, an adopted son, Richard Maloney of Brooklyn NY. 2 granddaughters Kirsten Keller and Krislynn Hawks of Bennington and a grandson Jason Maloney of Brooklyn NY. James is also survived by 4 sisters, Maryellen Longton (James) of Millsboro, DE, Margaret Brady of Bennington, Vt and Kathleen Connors (Ken) of Virginia Beach, VA, and Rose Brady of Bennington; 2 brothers David Brady and Peter Brady Sr. of Bennington Vt. and several nieces, nephews and cousins.He was predeceased by his parents, 3 brothers Martin Brady Jr., Patrick Brady, Michael Brady, and 2 nieces Kristin Berard and Ashley Brady.
Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Thursday July 28 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m
The committal service with military honors will take place on Friday July 29, at 2:00 p.m. at the family lot at White Chapel Cemetery in Bennington.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Brooklyn, New York.
