JAMES ALMY OBITUARY
BENNINGTON, VERMONT
James Andrew Almy, age 67, a resident of Bennington, Vermont, died on October 24, 2020 at the Albany Medical Center.
He was born in Guilderland, New York on July 10, 1953 and was the son of the late James and Cindy Almy, Sr. He received his education in local schools, and is an Army veteran, having served in Viet Nam. He married the former Delia Levesque who predeceased him in 2010.
For many years, James had been employed as a bartender working at Homes Club in Massachusetts and at Madison's Restaurant in Pittsfield, for over twenty years.
James was a huge motorcycle enthusiast and he loved football.
He is survived by two sons: Michael (Merle) Grandbois from Bennington, and Kevin Grandbois of Maryland. He leaves his grandchildren; Alex, Alexis, Claire, Colton, Katie Leach and Felicia Hoyt. He has two great grandchildren: Gabriella and Felicity. James leaves his girlfriend, Mary Wrist of Pittsfield, MA.
Besides his wife and parents, James is predeceased by one daughter, Sheri Grandbois.
There are no services scheduled. The Mahar and Son Funeral Home in Bennington is assisting the family at this time. Calling hours which had been scheduled, have been cancelled due to the new Covid protocols.
