Ian James Kilgour Webster

Ian JK Webster of Bennington VT, passsed away suddenly on April 17th, 2024. Ian was born on July 13, 2005 in Bennington to the late Gideon K Webster and Diane Harrington Mead. Ian received his early education in Bennington and graduated from Mount Anthony Union High School in June of 2023. Ian particularly enjoyed the Law Enforcement classes he attended through the SW Vermont Technical Center, and the ride alongs on which he accompanied the Bennington County Sheriff's Department. Shortly after graduation, Ian enlisted in the US Navy, completed basic training and started his education to become a Nuclear Engineer. Ian followed his father's footsteps by being a part of Scouting, joining the Cub Scouts when he was 6. His mother became a Scout Leader to be able to join him in his journey through Scouting. Ian also was a member of the Youth bowling organization in Bennington for a number of years. He participated in several tournaments at the state level, and placed in the top three twice, earning scholarships in the process. Ian, like so many others in his family, loved being outdoors, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and target shooting with his friends and family. Ian is survived by his mother, Diane Harrington Mead, grandmother Rebecca (Babbitt) Webster of Dighton Ma., Uncle James Harrington and Aunt Wanda Harrington both of Bennington, cousins Stacey Harrington and Toby Harrington (Caleb Gordon) of Bennington and cousin Amanda Harrington of Ludlow VT. Ian is also survived by great aunts and uncles, as well as many friends who were like family. Ian was predeceased by his father Gideon K Webster, his grandfather Thomas K Webster, and grandparents William and Hazel Harrington.
