HOWARD ROBINSON
WHITE CREEK, NEW YORK
On January 24, 2018, Howard Arthur Robinson, age 91, of White Creek, NY, entered into eternal life with peace, love, grace, and dignity, surrounded by his loving family holding his hands as he left our world. Howard was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 19, 1926. He was the second son of the late George & Mary Vabolis Robinson. The family moved to Bennington, VT, when the boys were at an early age. He attended Cobblestone Elementary School and North Bennington High School.
A United Stated Navy Veteran, Howard enlisted, at age 18, during World War II. He served in the Pacific Theater on the USS Prince William. He left the service after the war in 1946. He returned home to Bennington to work at the Polygraphic and Cushman Furniture in North Bennington and retired from Stanley Tools in Shaftsbury in 1988.
On June 1, 1957, Howard married his beautiful bride, Marilyn Byars Robinson. For the next sixty and a half years, they fulfilled more dreams and had more fun, laughter, and adventures than most are lucky to even dare to dream of, including home, family, good friends, faithful neighbors, and travel.
Howard was a member of the Jermain United Methodist Church, Cambridge Post 0634 American Legion, The Cambridge Band, Bennington American Legion Band, and the Hoosick Falls Community Band, where he played the clarinet. He was also a past member of the Van Rensselaer Star Masonic Order. Howard helped throughout the community painting historic signs, making cardinals and beautifying the landscape. He loved keeping a manicured lawn and weeded flower gardens.
Most cherished by Howard were the members of his family. He was predeceased by his older brother Ralph Robinson from Silver Springs, MD last year also at the age of 91. Left to cherish his memory and continue his legacy are his wife, Marilyn Robinson of White Creek, NY, his son and daughter-in-law Duane & Carmen Robinson of White Creek, NY, his daughter and son-in-law, Mary & Bruce Weinfurt, of Bennington, VT, grandchildren Justin and his wife Morgan Robinson (White Creek, NY), Bruce Weinfurt and his significant other Dehlia Piechnik (Cheshire, MA), Richard Robinson (White Creek, NY), Zachariah Weinfurt (New York, NY), Nicole Robinson, Jillian Robinson, and Vanessa Robinson (all three of White Creek, NY). We will miss his quick smile, winks, full laughter, and constant prodding to get married and settle down. He just wanted everyone to have a glimpse of all his blessings in life.
We would like to thank all that helped care for Howard at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. Not only was his comfort a priority but the comfort of his beloved family as he passed.
