Harry John Legge

Harry Legge, 66, a resident of Pownal, Vermont, passed away peacefully on June 20th, 2023 at his home following a brief illness. Born on June 8th, 1957, in Newton, Massachusetts. He was the son of the late Arthur A. Legge II and Gertrude May (Hanson) Legge. Harry received his education at the Paul A. Dever School. For many years he worked at various retail jobs. Harry was a 6’5 gentle giant, who always had a sweet innocence about him. He was well loved and respected by all that knew him, especially his sibling’s many friends. He was very athletic and was a proud member of the special olympics swimming team. Harry also enjoyed animals, bowling, baseball, dancing, fishing, watching sports, and calling his brother Arthur on the phone. Survivors include his siblings; Cindy Legge (Lisa Missbrenner), Arthur A. Legge III, Christine Murphy, Thomas Legge (Beverley), Carolyn Cabot, Steve Chase (Debbie), And Linda Chase. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Harry is predeceased by a step father, Dashy Damico. A brother David Legge Sr. As well as a nephew, David Legge Jr. A graveside service for Harry will be held at 11am on Monday June 26th at Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington, Vermont. if friends should desire, contributions in memory of Harry may be made to Special Olympics, through the office of the Mahar Funeral Home 628 Main Street Bennington, Vermont 05201
