Harold E. Weaver

BENNINGTON

Harold E. Weaver, 93, a resident of County Street, Bennington, died peacefully on Friday, March 12, 2021 at his home following a long illness.

Born in Bennington on May 5, 1927, he was the son of the late Harold J. and Dorothy (Buck) Weaver. Harold received his education in Bennington and was a graduate of Bennington High School.

A World War II veteran, Harold served in the U. S. Army during that time.

He married the former Lois Mears on June 23, 1951. Lois died June 14, 2020.

In earlier years Harold was employed at BenMont Paper Company and following that he worked for many years as a machine operator at Bijur Lubricating in Bennington.

Very active in the Bennington community for many years, Harold was a member of the Bennington Fire Department, American Legion Post 13, VFW Post 1331 and Bennington Elks Lodge 567.

Survivors include four children, Julie Chandler and Bruce Weaver, both of Bennington, Craig Weaver of Shaftsbury and Tracy Mintrone of Pownal.

The funeral will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Sunday, March 14, 2021 at 12:00 noon.

Burial will take place in the family lot at White Chapel Cemetery.
