Hans Leon Zwynenburg, 36, a resident of Mattison Road in Pownal, VT died suddenly Sunday December 3, 2017 at his residence.
He was born in Bennington, VT September 7, 1981. He was the son of Daniel and Melody (Crawford). He received his education in Bennington and was a 2000 graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School.
While in high school Hans worked at the Mount Anthony Tree Farm and as a junior in high school he formed a partnership with David Dence and they started their own tree service, Greater Heights Tree Service. Following high school Hans went to work at Blue Heron Construction and for the last 15 years Hans owned his own business, Hans L. Zwynenburg Construction.
He married the former Beth Daniels on July 30, 2011 at the Shaftsbury Methodist Church.
In earlier years Hans enjoyed skiing, water sports, fishing, boating, hunting and running. He was very mechanically inclined. He always had a smile on his face and was super friendly. He was a great son in law and was very successful at anything that he did. He was a member of the Bennington Lodge of Elks # 567 and the Moose Family Center.
Survivors include his wife, Beth Daniels Zwynenburg of Pownal, his son Jack of Pownal; His parents Daniel and Melody Zwynenburg of Pownal; a sister, Taurie Wellspeak and her husband John of Bennington; his paternal grandparents Jay and Joan Zwynenburg of Bennington, his maternal grandmother, Phyllis Crawford of Bennington; his father in law and mother in law, Ronald and Cathy Daniels of Shaftsbury, a brother in law, Ronald "Buzz" Daniels of Shaftsbury and seven exchange students who Hans considered his brothers along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Wednesday December 6, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. when the family will be in attendance.
A celebration of Han's life will be held at the Bennington Elks Lodge on Thursday December 7, from noon to 2:00 p.m.
