Grace Ethel Andrews, age 81, a resident of Lebanon, Illinois, and former longtime resident of Bennington, died at her home on June 23, 2016, following a brief illness.
Grace was born in Troy, New York and was the daughter of the late Richard and Catherine Palmatier. She received her education in local schools.
For many years she ran the Busy Bee Flower and Gift Shop in Bennington.
She enjoyed crocheting, reading, floral arranging and playing computer games.. Along with her husband, they owned harness racing horses and raced them mostly at Hinsdale Racetrack in New Hampshire.
Grace is survived by three children; Donald Sargood, Jr. (Sandra) of Hoosick Falls, New York, Venessa McCollum (Dale) of Stuttgart, Germany and Brian Andrews of San Francisco, CA.
Grace leaves 4 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Grace has one brother, Richard Palmatier, Jr. of Tucson, Arizona and two sisters; JoAnne Harrington of Bennington, Vermont and Barbara Wilson of Tennessee.
She is predeceased by her two husbands: Donald Sargood, Sr. and Erbert Andrews and one sister Christine Lapp.
Graveside committal services will be held on Friday afternoon, July 1, at 2:00 PM at Albany Rural Cemetery in Albany, New York.
Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St. in Bennington, Vermont on Friday from 10:00 AM until !2:00 Noon.
