Glenn C Smith

NORTH PETERSBURGH, NY
Glenn C. Smith, 85, a resident of Smith Road, North Petersburgh, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls following a long illness.
Born in Troy, NY on January 21, 1936, he was the son of the late Clyde and Agnes (Church) Smith. Glenn received his education in the Hoosick Falls schools and was a 1953 graduate of Hoosick Falls High School. Glenn was a member of the Army Reserves and honorably discharged in 1964.
He married the former Leona "Lee" LaFlamme at Sacred Heart Church in Bennington on May 16, 1959.
In earlier years Glenn was employed at Dodge Industries and Oak Mitsui in Hoosick Falls. He later worked for several years in the logging industry throughout the area before starting his own contracting business which he had until the time of his retirement.
Glenn was a former member of the Hoosick Falls Elks Club and the Moose Lodge in Bennington. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Lee Smith; a son, Scott Smith (Sandra VanderKar); a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Michael Colliano, all of North Petersburgh; a daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Michael Willson of Dalton, MA; five grandchildren, Sam (Monique Hayes) and Jake Colliano (Emily Ostrander), Sarah and Joe Willson and Kaitlyn Weaver (Cole DeShane); two great-grandchildren, Emmett and Leo DeShane; a sister, Gayle Hinsdill of Troy, NY; brother-in-law, Adrien (Bit) LaFlamme of Bennington, VT and sister-in-law, Annette Rice of Shaftsbury, VT and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
At Glenn's request there will be no services. Should friends desire memorial contributions in Glenn Smith's memory may be made to the Bennington Cancer Crusaders through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
