George P. Reagan, 87 of Bennington, VT, passed away peacefully at his home on February 18, 2024. George was born in White Creek, NY on February 22, 1936, the son of Roy Reagan and Katherine Golfin. George married the former Norma Bump in Cambridge, NY on October 5, 1957. Norma passed away on July 10, 2008. George was a roofer for many years in the Albany, NY area and a member of Roofers Local Union 241. He also worked as a furniture sander for several years at H.T. Cushman Manufacturing Company in Bennington and worked for the Vermont DOT driving a snowplow in Woodford, Searsburg and the Wilmington areas. George never met a stranger, talking to everyone as if they had been best friends for years. He was also a man of many talents and interests. He enjoyed roller skating, dancing, riding his bike and bowling to name a few. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved fixing anything whether it was cars, lawn mowers, televisions, CB radios, (he was also a CB radio enthusiast) bikes, anything that needed fixing. He was a regular MacGyver. He also enjoyed watching a wide variety of sports, his favorites being football and NASCAR. He also loved animals, especially his beloved cat, Freddie. George is survived by his siblings: Eleanor Tracy of White Creek, N.Y. and Caroline Bornt of Hoosick Falls, N.Y.; his children: Paul (Terri) Reagan of Bennington, VT; Phillip (Cindy) Reagan of Statesville, N.C.; Polly (Virginio) Perrotta of Bennington, VT; Kathryn Yeager of Stuttgart, AR; Kelly (David) Brown of Johnsonville, NY; Shanda Reagan of Shaftsbury, VT; and Amanda Reagan of Robbinsdale, MN. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Christopher Reagan, Jennifer Reagan, Kurt Reagan, Sarah Gaucher, Duane Baker, Alisha Hayes (whom he raised), Jason Revett, Brian Reagan, Victoria Perrotta-Knapp, Virginio Perrotta IV, Amber Foster, Dillon Foster, Chelsey Bodenstab, Ethan Bodenstab, Victoria Reagan, Elizabeth Reagan and Phillip Reagan, his cousin who was more like a brother to him, Carlton (Kathy) Peters, Ernie Niles, who was like a son to him, his close friend Priscilla Thompson, many great grandchildren, including those closest to him, Christopher Wilder, Amaya Hayes, Alexis Hayes and Alivia Niles and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife of over 50 years, Norma, he was predeceased by his oldest daughter, Patricia Juanita Reagan and his sisters, Betty Ryan, Marion Coonradt, and Mae Flynn. He was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him and will be greatly missed. In accordance with George’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral services.
