Frederick Stillman Wilkins III, of Bennington, VT, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on May 31, 2024. Frederick was born in Bennington on October 22, 1950, the son of Frederick, II and Shirley (Tifft) Wilkins. He was educated in Bennington schools and was a graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School Class of 1969. Frederick married Sandra Denise Griffis in Bennington on August 23, 1969. Frederick was a production worker at Saint-Gobain for many, many, years and retired from there February 21, 2014. Frederick liked to travel and enjoyed going to casinos. He loved shopping, including going out on Black Friday. He was an avid hunter, but more than anything he enjoyed the time he was able to spend with his family. Frederick is survived by his wife of over 54 years, Sandra Wilkins, of Bennington, VT, his children; Denise (Tyler) Hollister of Bennington, Skip (Laura) Wilkins of Shaftsbury, VT, Tanya (Bill) Hackett of Bennington and Amanda Wilkins of Bennington, his grandchildren; Austin and Maria Hollister, Jazmine Hollister and her fiancé Matt Bushee Jr., Sam and Ellie Wilkins, Crystal, Makayla, Mya and Hunter Hackett and Raven LeBlanc, one great-granddaughter, Rylee Hollister, his mother-in-law, Denise Griffis, his siblings; Kathy (Butch) Williams,, Debbie Wilkins, Sheree Wilkins, Mark (Lori) Wilkins and Mike Wilkins. He is also survived by sisters-in-law; Diane (Joe) Brimmer and Bonnie Wilkins and brothers-in-law; Jack Griffis, Jeff (Darlene) Griffis and Frank (Robin) Griffis. Frederick was predeceased by his father, Frederick Wilkins II, his mother Shirley Lohan, his stepfather, Bernard Lohan, his father-in-law, Francis Griffis, an infant daughter, Crystal Wilkins, a sister, Linda Mayer and a brother, Randy Wilkins. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday June 5, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington, VT. A reception at the Elks Club carriage barn will be held after the service.
