Frederick A. Hartmann a resident of Winhall, VT and beloved husband of Dorothy Esposito-Hartmann passed away March 5, 2018 at the Albany Medical Center in N.Y.
He was born in Palisades Park, N.J., the son of Frederick and Kathleen Hartmann. Educated in New Jersey schools and graduated from Rider College in New Jersey; he went on to serve his country in Vietnam as a U.S. Marine. He was promoted early to Captain and decorated with a Bronze Star and a Joint Services Commendation Medal.
Fred later joined the family business in Industrial Refrigeration and Real Estate Development in Union City, N.J.
An avid skier and reader of military history, he participated in the Marine Corp Association and the U.S.N.Y. Commandry.
A member of the Winhall Zoning Board of Adjustment and Past President of The West River Trail at the Depot Londonderry, he served his community well.
As per his wishes, Fred will be inurned at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery- Saratoga County, N.Y. in a family ceremony.
