FRANK JOHNSON, JR. OBITUARY
BENNINGTON, VERMONT
Frank E. Johnson, Jr. age 88, a resident of Bennington, died on Sunday, April 15 in Albany, NY following a long illness.
He was born in Bennington, VT on January 11, 1930, and was the son of the late Frank and Alice (Dyszczyk) Johnson, Sr. Frank received his education in Bennington Schools.
For thirty-five years he worked for Central Vermont Power Service as a lineman and retired in 1992. He had previously worked as a store clerk in the A & P Supermarket. He served with the Navy during World War II. Frank married the former Rosecile Hart.
They have been married the forty-seven years.
Together they enjoyed square dancing, and were members of the Western Square Dancers, Catamounts, Promenabors, Berkshire Roundeleers, and Northway Squares.
Frank and Rosecile were members of the Bennington Rescue Squad, and were the first married couple to serve on the Rescue Squad. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Besides his wife, he is survived by four children; Chester (Janet) Phillips of Shaftsbury, VT. Trina Lampron of Bennington, VT, Noreen (Charles) Watson of Bennington, VT, and Frank Johnson, III of Bennington. VT. He leaves several grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his brother Kenneth Johnson, his son James Lee Phillips, and a grandson Nicholas Watson.
Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St. Bennington, VT on Thursday, April 19, from 6-8PM.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, April 20, at 11:00 at White Chapel Cemetery in Bennington.
