Frank Orrin Brown, Jr., a resident of Crescent Manor Care Center in Bennington and formerly of Twin Maples Adult home in Bennington, went to his eternal home with his Savior on Sunday morning, July 5, 2020 following a long illness. Frank was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 10, 1951 and moved to Derby, Vermont with his family in 1960. He attended elementary and junior high school there and is a 1970 graduate of North Country Union High School in Newport, Vermont. His fifth-grade teacher taught him the game of Chess. He was proficient at it, was a member of the chess club and taught his family how to play, which led to many chess matches at home. He enjoyed being a member of a Ham Operator Club. While living in Derby he was a member of the Derby Bible Baptist Church and worked as a telephone line man and an orderly at North Country Health Care Center. Frank also attended Vermont Technical College in Randolph, where he was a member of the Radio Club and the chief engineer for radio station WVCFM at the college.
Frank later moved to East Arlington where he lived for twenty-five years. During that time, he was a faithful employee at Friendly's Restaurant in Manchester, Vermont. He attended several different churches over those years, but after moving to Bennington he enjoyed attending the Green Mountain Mennonite Fellowship where he was warmly welcomed.
Survivors include his two sisters: Lois (Gary) Taylor of Morrisville, PA and Laura (Philip) Wheeler of Abilene, TX as well as two brothers; Roy (Peggy) Brown of Southbridge, MA and Edward Brown of Vills Mills, NY. He leaves fifteen nieces and nephews whose fondest memories of him are bike rides, trips to the Candle Mill in East Arlington, and walks to the corner store for ice cream. He was proud to be Great Uncle to twenty-five great nieces and great nephews. Frank is predeceased by his parents. Frank and Lois (Friday) Brown, Sr.
Graveside services will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Arlington on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 12:00PM. There are no calling hours scheduled.
