Francis B. Woodward Jr.

Francis B. "Pete" Woodward Jr., 79, a resident of Bennington, VT died peacefully Thursday, October 6, 2022.

Born in Bennington December 1, 1942, he was the son of the late Francis B. Woodward Sr. and Helen (Sausville) Woodward. Pete was raised in Bennington and was a 1961 graduate of Bennington High School. Following high school, he served in the Vermont National Guard.

For many years Pete was employed in the family construction business, F.B. Woodward and Sons.

Survivors include two daughters, Tracy (Woodward) Davis and her husband Michael of Bracey, VA, and Colleen Harper and her husband Michael Zigmont of Chicopee, MA; four grandchildren, Brendan (Alison) Davis of Charleston, SC, Rachael (Kevin) Atwood of
Sand Lake, MI, Samantha (Eli) Adkins of Hampton, VA, and Nigel Mears of Ithaca, NY; two great grandchildren, Owen and Emma Davis of Charleston, SC; his brother Dennis Woodward, and sister Janice (Woodward) Murray also of Bennington, VT, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Pete was predeceased by a son, Matthew Scott Woodward who died in 1984.

A graveside service will be held at Park Lawn Cemetery this coming June of 2023.
